HISTORY OF OUR GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY

            The HISTORY OF THE RAPID CITY SOCIETY FOR GENEALOGICAL RESEARCH INC.  (Today is Tomorrow’s Past—50 years of Family History 1966-2016) is now ready to publish.

            The 116 pages portray the struggles of a new organization, the disappointments and obstacles of any new group but it also shows the striving of the leaders and  the huge changes in technology  that prevailed to form a strong community project for helping not only Society members but also anyone in the world to find their ancestors. All this research is recorded in  this edition of the  HISTORY OF THE RAPID CITY SOCIETY.

            The book is divided into four sections: (1) the history of the organization from 1966-2015 ; (2) Changes and Non-Changes; (3) Data; (4) Memorials.  The Memorial section honors 32  members who are no longer with us. 

            This 50th Anniversary book can be purchased by check from the Rapid City Society for Genealogical Research (RCSGR), PO Box 1495, Rapid City, SD 57709-1495.  Before October 1, the pre-published  book donation is $15.  After October 1, the donation will be $20.  Pre-purchased books ($15) may be picked up at the October 15 Seminar at Faith Lutheran Church, 17 Indiana St.  Books will also be on sale at the Seminar for $20.   The book will be available after the seminar from the Rapid City Society or Genealogical Research, Inc. for $20 plus $5 shipping and handling.
